The Penis Knight
This is the story of a boy. Some called it a curse, and others called it a blessing.
On the borders of a sunny forest, far away, there he was, a little boy.
As he went to look, he suddenly noticed a basket full of delicious penises.
“What a feast I shall have,” he thought to himself. “Red, yellow, black, and white; the smell, the shape, the size, they all seemed...

Corkscrewed
I swear, I felt like my world crumbled this afternoon. I was feeling sleepy. I was feeling unusually depressed (because I’m single as fuck). And I felt like I needed to punch a baby.
But I didn’t. Instead, I punched Dudley—and he turned the tables on me.
I’d normally shrug off defeats in Street Fighter; I’d accept them nobly. But Dudley was different. I have a story about him. I have a story about...

Why do I always convince myself that a writer’s block is non-existent when in reality, the mere thought of it makes it warm, breathing, and alive?

Dear Phoenix,
Things have quite been rough on me lately. Today, I lost over 20 matches in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and people have been telling me to kick you out of my three-man team, mainly because you have such meager health points: you get beaten so easily—especially by Akuma. And by Hulk.
I’ve always had high hopes us. I know that we have things in common.
I, too, am not strong physically. I’m amusingly...

Don't judge me
There’s laundry piled on the floor. There are notebooks and other paper stuff laying on my bed. There’s dust everywhere.
That’s my bedroom. That’s where I sleep. That’s where I spent my New Year weekend playing Tiny Tower and Street Fighter Volt.
Actually, I didn’t sleep at nights. I was a vampire during the last week of 2011.
There’s so much clutter to...

scavenger thingyness
Our first task was to take a photo of three things in People’s Park: an eagle, a fish, and the third one seemed mind boggling to me. Where do we find a horse on the 18th floor in People’s Park?!
Maybe it’s a painting, I hunched.
My partner, Maya, was born for challenges like these. She knew exactly what we were looking for: the Marco Polo logo! Duh.
I suppressed my embarrassment...

There was a time in college when all I wanted was to stop studying, to ditch my thesis, and to just soak up on free Internet content.

Dear Tumblr,
Did you miss me? I missed you. Kind of.
I’ve been so engrossed with the real world lately that I haven’t been able to focus on what really matters and what’s really important: the nonsensical crap that I hold dear.
Work drives me insane sometimes. But mostly it’s fun because I get to bitch around everything…just kidding.
My iPod’s become my refuge to the...

Restore factory settings
Do I have a reset button? Would somebody please pound it like a madman? It’s out of my hand’s reach and I need to revert to my old self.
The 21-year-old that I see around is turning into a zombie; he’s worrying too much and he’s overthinking.
He’s even crashed out two drafts for this blog because he just feels like doing so.
Is there a meteor crashing on Earth...

Ultimate sadness
Salespeople (especially attendants of food stalls) must never be deprived of the stuff they’re selling.
Today I was ridiculously saddened by my mum’s story: about how a girl in an ice cream parlor frowned when she replied to my mum’s question (Is the Selecta Hershey’s ice cream with Heath Toffee bits delicious?).
“I don’t know ma’am,” she said....

I get tired so easily
Today I woke up unusually early for a long day. I ate breakfast. I took a bath. Rummaged through my Narnia for something to wear. Ironed a buttoned shirt. Brushed my teeth. Packed my bag. And left the house.
By the time I arrived for work, I was already tired and wanted to sleep again.

Street Fighter IV Volt
I need to confess something: I really miss Street Fighter. I haven’t had a real game for the past few weeks because the folks at Gamepakk are being Marvel vs. Capcom 3 monsters.
The closest thing to Street Fighter that I have right now is its iPhone/iPod Touch version: Volt.
It’s not bad. It’s fun actually. Online matches suck though: gameplay seems laggy. Maybe it requires 354,958,374,534 mbps...

iStalk
Spotted: the city mayor in Power Mac Center at Abreeza. She was there for the opening of the first branch of the premium Apple reseller in Davao.
The sleek button down white top that she wore made her blend easily with the disciples of Steve Jobs. After the unveiling of the store, she walked inside with Power Mac’s executives. They awarded prizes for the day’s early bird and the store’s first...

Doctor, doctor, I am sick
I’ve been stumped lately. Or maybe I’m just feeling lazy? Writing this blog entry is even becoming such a difficult task.
Help. I need to see a doctor.
More importantly, I need a time machine to fast forward me to mid-November: when Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be released, and when Amazon’s Kindle Fire will start shipping.
Gaah! I need some magic to calm me down. And...
pandemonium
Dear Earth,
I’m writing to tell you that I’m about to explode. I’ve been caught in a whirlwind the past few weeks; everything around me seems horribly unorganized; and I’ve not been able to cross out anything on my to-do list…my 2-week-old to-do list.
To-do lists must never grow over a week old. But the one I have is 2-weeks old. This is bad. Really bad. My thoughts are in a vortex, spinning like...

Hovering above Davao Gulf
One of the best things about living in Davao is being able to hit the beach in less than ten minutes—and minus the hassle of planning days (or even weeks!) ahead.
The shores of the Davao Gulf, where a bunch of beach resorts line up, are only a jeepney ride away. Entrance to these beach resorts almost doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket. And the grilled fares and seafood that can be ordered are...

Weekend Whirlwind
I don’t know how or why it happens, but my weekends always have whirlwinds in them.
Two weekends ago, I attacked this giant burger with Debbie.
Hello Debbie!
After the burgers, I went cruising on a yacht with Ms. M.
(photos by Bob Mata)
This party boat felt like a movie: people clinking champagne glasses and all that jazz. There were no thugs or secret agents, though (because...

Angry Bird Writer thingy
Something just flew into my stash of pens.
Do you see it?
It can see you! This Angry Bird’s probably been throwing itself around too much (see its beak).
Yey! I’m ready to play. Or write.
The Angry Bird joins my brain purse and my doodle notebook.
Thank you mam Amy!
