Belgian chocolates and durian
I never complained about missing Kadayawan.
Maybe because I was having such a good time in outer space.
Or maybe because I already had my own Kadayawan celebration before I left.
A sinful and selfish Kadayawan celebration. It came in this small package.
OMG. I almost fainted. The small package contained four deadly squares of doom.
Belgian chocolates with durian cream filling inside....

Who is Zoe? And why is she in Yellow? [2]
(second in a series that will probably drag on for all eternity)
This is where we spent one of the last but awesome moments we had in Chiang Mai.
We almost had the place to ourselves because we’re VIP and all that (baby I know).
Just kidding.
There were ten billion of us and the bar just had to open early because we were already outside, showing signs and desires to party like crazy.

A Hadoken Community
(this blog entry is long overdue)
There’s something fascinating about fighting game players: even if they punch and kick each other in a video game, they actually become good friends after the word “K.O.” flashes in the screen.
From there, a seemingly innocent coin-operated arcade game machine becomes their medium to gather, hang out, and share thoughts about the video game they are crazy about....

Chiang Mai media camp musings [1]
(first in a series that will probably drag on for all eternity)
Perhaps it will take me a very long time to calm my nerves and thoughts about everything that happened in Chiang Mai for the past two weeks. The people I’ve met, their stories, our routines and activities, and the warm smiles and hugs we shared are still running around my head, painting vivid pictures that subtly crush my heart: why...

CNN is only good when it means Cartoon Network...
While at the Suvarnabhumi Airport, Emilord went the extra mile to save her hairspray.
I forgot to wake up my roommate for our 8:45 class. And the embarrassing part? It was his birthday. I’m such a criminal.
Eating buffet meals everyday is crazy. That’s an understatement. I seriously need to pace myself; buffet for the next two weeks! OMG.
The TV in our room is always tuned into CNN. Yeah, I...

This feels just like school
Except that classes are held in a hotel’s function room, which has a blizzard-like temperature.
Except that the cafeteria is a buffet.
Except that, sometimes, dinner’s 50% dessert (yay).
Except that I’m in Chiang Mai and overlooking a river.
Except that this is the newspaper that I get to read in the morning. (Okay, maybe I don’t read the whole thing, just the lifestyle section!...

I have a headache
and I’m getting ridiculous epiphanies from Street Fighter.
Today I faced Crimson Viper, probably one of the most difficult fighters to battle with. She has a lot of mix-ups and confusing cross-ups. Her burning kick thing is annoying.
I lost to someone whom I’ve never played with in GamePakk. But that’s okay. I openly embrace losses—they make me humble. (O, ayan ang OA na realization. Yan...

that Chun-Li shirt
Today’s a little too overwhelming.
At about 1 PM, I already found myself crashing out a bunch of items on my to-do list.
This includes giggling—when I finally got that Chun-Li shirt I asked a printing shop to make.
After recklessly throwing myself around the city in the morning to run some errands, I sought refuge in this shirt
This amazing Chun-Li shirt
I’m too lazy to...

OMG, it happened again
(last in a series)
After some snacks, some soup, and some seafood, team orange now had to wear this dress
It’s a cocktail dress made out of Ferrero Rocher wrappers. Maitre Chocolatier (pronounced “mayt chocoleetee” ugh, I suck at French), located in Abreeza’s restaurant row in the ground floor, isn’t a clothing store, though.
It’s a boutique cafe that...

OMG, it happened again
(second in a series)
Ria initially told us that the Abreeza thing was going to be a treasure hunt of some sort. It later changed because the world is constantly changing.
I then received a Facebook invite that read: Abreeza Ayala Mall Food Tour. It happened sometime between 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. But because we’re slowpokes, we all finished at 3.
To start, we were grouped according to colors....

OMG, it happened again
(first in a series)
From this day forth, I now hail Abreeza, the Ayala mall here in Davao, as the land of let’s-stuff-our-faces-with-food-from-five-different-restaurants-in-less-than-four-hours.
OMG. It happened again: I stayed inside the mall for hours and dizzied myself with food.
This blog entry, of course, is a strong reference to my June 8 experience where I covered the opening of Café...
First, we should redefine, not abandon, objectivity as one of the principles...
– Does new media require a new definition of objectivity? In this article, Stephan Ward argues that, yes, it does. Ward suggests that in order for ethics to prosper, objectivity must be redefined within the constraints of a new domain. In this case, new media journalism.
