Scream. There’s no way to enjoy a fighting game (whether it’s Tekken or Street Fighter) than to scream your heart’s content. It gives you a unique relief: whether you’re winning or losing, or whether you dropped a combo or dodged an attack.
Concentrate. You know what they say, play like there’s no tomorrow. Enjoy every bit of audio-visual experience that comes out of the HDTV. Press buttons and input commands with your heart. It’s the key to winning.
Don’t be a sore loser (like me; especially in Tekken). It’s a fighting game. There will be a winner and a loser. Be a good sport as you would when you play basketball or badminton. This is easier said than done.
Run analyses in your head. Imagine that you’re a fighting game expert. You know the physics and the art behind every match. If you’re playing Street Fighter, focus closely on the frames. If you’re playing Tekken, adore Lili’s hair; it’s beautiful.
Support a buddy. You can never be too nice in the fighting game community. Amid all the fighting in the game, everyone is still friends with one another. Keep an open mind and be willing to teach and to learn with one another. This is what makes the fighting world harmonious and a beautiful place for the entire humanity look up to.
The next fighting game event we’re anticipating? The one in the 2012 Davao Cyber Expo on July 27-29.
